Now enrolling children ages 6 months to 5 yrs old **VOUCHERS ACCEPTED**
At The Little Beekeepers Family Daycare, our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow. We strive to create a partnership between parents, teachers, and children to support each child's unique needs and interests.
We offer a play-based curriculum that is designed to promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Our curriculum includes a variety of activities such as art, music, science, math, and outdoor play to engage and challenge children of all ages.
Our teachers are passionate about early childhood education and have the experience and qualifications to provide high-quality care. They receive ongoing training to stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in the field.
Our facilities are designed to provide a comfortable, clean and safe environment for children to learn and play. We have age-appropriate toys, books, and equipment, as well as access to outdoor play areas and a nutritious meal program. We gladly provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
We are currently enrolling children ages 6 months-5 yrs. Our enrollment process is simple and easy, and we offer flexible scheduling options to meet your family's needs. Contact us today to schedule a tour or to learn more about our enrollment process.
Nurturing a child’s development requires care, patience, and understanding. However, addressing misbehavior is sometimes necessary. Behaviors such as hitting or kicking, which can harm other children, are not allowed.
In response to misbehavior, we will:
If your child’s behavior becomes highly disruptive or harmful, we will discuss the situation privately with you. If the issue cannot be resolved, your child may be removed from the program.
State law requires that all parents sign their child in and out each day. For your convenience, a sign-in/out sheet, pen, and clock are available by the door. This ensures we have a record of the child's attendance, hours, and the person responsible for drop-off and pick-up each day.
We take every precaution to prevent emergencies. However, if one does occur, it is crucial for families to know the protocol.
Emergency Cards:
Each family must complete two emergency cards (“Blue Cards”). In the event of an emergency, you will be contacted immediately. If we cannot reach you, the emergency contacts listed on your Blue Card will be called to pick up your child. Ensure that your emergency contacts are able to respond quickly.
Fire:
A fire extinguisher is located near the front door exit and in the kitchen. If a fire cannot be controlled quickly, children will be evacuated before calling 911. Monthly fire drills will prepare the children for such an event.
Shelter in Place:
In case of emergency, we will evacuate to a safe location down the street, such as P.S. 181 at 1024 New York Ave with whom we have an arrangement. Families will be notified once the evacuation is complete and all clear.
Under New York State Law, all teachers are mandated reporters, and are legally required to report any suspected case of child abuse or neglect.
All children enrolled must have a physical examination by their physician before starting day care. Please complete the Department of Health‘s form along with their healthcare provider. Notify us if your child is absent due to illness. Children should remain home if showing any signs of illness and return only when they can fully participate in the program, as we cannot care for sick children. For illnesses lasting more than one week, a doctor’s written consent is required for return.
If your child has had a fever, they may only return to day care after being fever-free for at least 24 hours. Our program is equipped to administer over-the-counter topical ointments, lotions, creams, sunscreens, insect repellents, Epinephrine Auto-Injectors, Diphenhydramine (with Epinephrine Auto-Injector), asthma inhalers, and nebulizers.
According to New York State Public Health Law, immunizations are required for all children enrolling in daycare. The NYS Recommended Childhood and Adolescent Immunization Schedule is provided below and posted on our bulletin board.
There are three exceptions to these requirements:
Infants will always be placed on their backs to sleep, unless there is a signed Alternate Sleep Position Waver - Health Care Professional Recommendation. We do not use fluffy blankets, comforters, sheepskins or pillows. Infants will sleep in sleepers (sleeping sacks), instead of blankets.
Communication with parents is always welcomed and encouraged. We will gladly arrange a time to discuss your child with you. We will also provide you with daily reports. We will contact you via, email, child’s folders, and text messages.
**ADDITIONAL POLICIES ARE IN PLACE AND WILL BE DISCUSSED PRIOR TO ENROLLMENT.**
